The Arch of Constantine The triple arch was erected in 315 A.D. to commemorate Emperor Constantine's victory over Maxentius at Saxa Rubra, but it incorporates fragments of sculptures from older monuments. It has been under restoration for several years.

T he National Museum of Pasta Foods, the only one of its kind in the world, is also a “forwarding” Museum, that is the first dedicated to a specific food product. The site of the Museum is Palazzo Scanderbeg, overlooking the square of the same name in the centre of Rome, at the foot of the Quirinale Palace, in the immediate vicinity of the Trevi Fountain.

The catacombs are the ancient underground cemeteries, used by the Christian and the Jewish communities, above all at Rome. The Christian catacombs, which are the most numerous, began in the second century and the excavating continued until the first half of the fifth.

The Vatican Observatory

In its historical roots and traditions the Vatican Observatory is one of the oldest astronomical institutes in the world. For the first foreshadowing of the Observatory can be traced to the constitution by Pope Gregory XIII of a committee to study the scientific data and implications involved in the reform of the calendar which occurred in 1582.
